At 17, I published my first book talking about my experiences with racism growing up in South Louisiana and later started my publishing company Revolutionary Hearts Industries at 18 to support Black authors.
In 2019, I found my purpose on a Summer Saturday morning in a playground parking lot. My little cousins looked at me and said that they didn’t want to go play in the park because they didn’t want to get “too dark”. Those words rang something deep in me that inspired me to pour my love into Black and Brown communities across the globe.
That was the start of The Creative Representation Empire (TCRE), a community curated coloring book company that uses real images to tell stories, educate, and bring together culture and communities.
We are on a mission to take the loneliness out of childhood and to empower youth so they reach their most fulfilled and authentic selves and make the change we wish to see in the world.
We know that we have taken many forms over the years but we hope that you will join us as we create a more inclusive world one page, one book, and one youth at a time. So let me reintroduce myself, my name is Naomi Winston, founder of The Creative Representation Empire.
